PETA goes gaga over Lady Gaga’s outfit at the VMAs

After sporting many unique and strange outfits at past VMAs, Lady Gaga didn’t fail to disappoint this year. When called onto stage to accept the Best Video of the Year for her song “Bad Romance,” Gaga shocked the audience by appearing in a dress, completed with hat, purse, and shoes, made out of meat.

Earlier in the month, Gaga was featured on the cover of Vogue in a bikini made of the same material and the photo shoot stirred up controversy with People for the Ethnical Treatment of Animals.

When asked about the meaning behind the meat dress, Gaga replied that its to demonstrate that “if we don’t stand up for what we believe in, and if don’t fight for our rights pretty soon we are going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones.”
