Trojans prepare for combine

With the NFL draft roughly two months away, a handful of former USC standouts are one step closer to their dream.

Eight former football players have been invited to attend this year’s NFL combine, where scouts will have the opportunity to examine their skills on the field and decide whether they have pro potential.

These selected players are TE Jordan Cameron, RB Allen Bradford, OL Kris O’Dowd, CB Shareece Wright, FB Stanley Havili and WR Ronald Johnson. Juniors DT Jurrell Casey and OL Tyron Smith will also attend. Many experts predict Smith with be the first Trojan drafted this year.

Seven players from USC were drafted last year, including S Taylor Mays, DE Everson Griffen, RB Joe McKnight, and WR Damian Williams. Six others were later signed as unrestricted free agents.

The combine will occur in Indianapolis from Feb. 23 to March 1.

This year’s NFL draft will take place from April 28 through April 30 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
