Willow Smith to release new single

After introducing herself to the music world with “Whip My Hair” on October 26, 2010, Willow Smith is back at it again with “21st Century Girl.”

The single will go on sale on Itunes this Tuesday and Smith is due to perform on an upcoming episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Evidently, Smith is a daring and adventurous performer, especially given the fact that she is so young.

However, there seems to be a divide amongst listeners as to her actual talent and musical worth, creating uncertainty as to the reception of her new single.

While many praise Smith for serving as a role model for kids who want to break out in the music industry and for creating appropriate and inexplicit hip-hop music, others view Smith’s work as a fabricated, auto-tuned exploit and believe her to be famous only because of her parents, actors and musicians Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Just take a look on Itunes reviews of “Whip My Hair” to see the controversy for yourself. Whether you think she’s growing up too quickly or that she is indeed the next big thing, there’s no denying that Willow Smith is here to make a statement.

Now the question is whether this 21st century girl will turn out to be a success or just a one-hit-wonder.
