Elizabeth Taylor passes away at age 79


Elizabeth Taylor, one of the last remaining screen legends of Hollywood, passed away in the early morning hours Wednesday from congestive heart failure at the age of 79.

The two-time Academy Award-winning actress was celebrated for her performances in films such as A Place in the Sun, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Cleopatra.

Elizabeth Taylor, famous for her prominent violet eyes, romantic affairs and numerous marriages, had been hospitalized in recent weeks at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

The legendary actress passed away with her friends and family by her side, including her four children.
