Haute Highlights
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Staples Center Friday, Nov. 15, 7:30 p.m.
The infamously tardy Staples Center crowd would be remiss to show up late to this Friday’s showdown. Big brother Laker center Pau Gasol faces off against his little brother Marc in what’s sure to be a tense sibling rivalry game. Misguided optimism aside, it’s going to be a rough game to watch. So grab some fried chicken Provencial from Ludo Bird inside Staples Center, sit far away and try not to weep too loudly as the Lakers experience firsthand which Gasol brother is clearly the tougher basketball player.
Steve Aoki, Surprise and Waka Flocka Flame
Shrine Expo Hall, Friday, Nov. 15, 8 p.m.
“Shoot first, ask questions last”: Waka Flocka Flame is coming to the Shrine Expo Hall this weekend. Sure, Steve Aoki and Surprise are also slated to show up, but anyone who’s familiar with the Riverdale, Ga. native knows that 700 W. 32nd Street is going to be a “Grove Street Party” this Friday. So walk, run or put a six-foot anthropomorphic “Rooster in your ’Rari” and drive to the Shrine Expo Hall this Friday for what’s sure to be the most turnt up night of the semester. Squad up!
