2014 Commencement speaker announced

The USC Commencement website announced that innovator Marc Benioff will serve as the 2014 Commencement speaker.

Benioff received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from USC in 1986 and currently serves on the university’s Board of Trustees.

Benioff is also the chairman and CEO of Salesforce.com, the leader in enterprise cloud computing. In 2012, he was named a Businessperson of the year by Fortune, one of the Best CEOs in the World by Barron’s and received an Innovation Award from the Economist.

Benioff has actively searched for ways to spark social change by utilizing information technology. As a result, he launched the Salesforce.com Foundation and established the “1-1-1 model” of integrated corporate philanthropy.

His social activism has garnered him the title of one of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders, as well as an Excellence in Corporate Philanthropy Award given to him by the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, of which Benioff serves as a CEO member.

Commencement will take place on Friday, May 16.
