HAUTE HIGHLIGHTS

Fake Radio Presents:

The Phantom of the Opera

Thursday, April 24, 8 p.m.

Arclight Hollywood

Move over Gerard Butler, there’s a new phantom in town. Join Fake Radio as they perform The Phantom of the Opera based off of its original 1943 radio script. This event won’t only feature the “Music of the Night,” but also the original commercials, live music/special effects and some improv. The cast, along with special guest star George Wendt, more popularly known as Norm from Cheers, will be clad in vintage costumes. This is the trip back to a 1940s radio station that you never knew you wanted.

Stagecoach

Fri., April 25 – Sun., April 27

Empire Polo Club, 81-800 Avenue 51, Indio

There might never be more cowboy boots and large-brimmed hats in the L.A. area than there will be this weekend, with the advent of the largest outdoor country music festival, ranging from folk to bluegrass and mainstream to alternative. As the dust settles and temperatures rise, headliners Eric Church, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan will take the stage, with concertgoers crooning to old-time favorites. Entering its eighth year and growing at a faster rate than Coachella, what was once deemed “hillbilly music” just might take over the world.

Lebowski Fest

Fri., April 25 – Saturday, April 26

The Wiltern, 3790 Wilshire Blvd., Koreatown

Grab your raggedy robe, your two best friends and that rug that really tied the room together when you take a trip — literally — back to 1998 with the celebration of this bizarre Coen Brothers’ cult classic. The weekend kicks off with a screening of the film and a performance by Jeff Bridges and his band, The Abiders. Then, the annual festival continues to the Fountain Bowl in Orange County with beverages (White Russians), bowling (bring your own ball) and trivia contests (just how many times does The Dude say “The Dude?”).
