USC Security Roundup


The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident report summary between Monday, Sept. 8, and Tuesday, Sept. 9. 

Crimes against a person

At 5:10 p.m. on Sept. 8, a student reported that she was struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle by the Exposition Boulevard Parking Structure. The student sustained an injury to her elbow, and DPS officers transported her to the USC Engemann Student Health Center for medical treatment. LAPD officers were requested and are conducting a traffic investigation.

At 5:30 P.m. on Sept. 8, a non-USC male reported that he was verbally assaulted by a neighbor after he had the subject’s vehicle towed for blocking his driveway at 37th and Catalina streets.

Crimes against property

at 10:39 A.m. on Sept. 8, it was reported that a suspect removed an envelope containing currency from an unsecured room in Verna and Peter Dauterive Hall.

at 1:56 p.m. on Sept. 8, a staff member reported that the rear driver’s side quarter panel on her car was damaged while her vehicle was parked at the Keck Hospital Parking Building.

at 10:48 p.m. on Sept. 8, a suspect removed a cellular phone from a gym bag left unattended at Dean Bartlett Cromwell Field.

Miscellaneous incidents

at 11:39 a.m. on Sept. 8, a staff member at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale reported that several nurses participated in an union demonstration at the location while on duty. The demonstration was in violation of an agreement with the union.

at 9:55 p.m. on Sept. 8, a student reported that a suspect used unknown means to make several unauthorized purchases on the student’s credit card account.
