USC Security Roundup


The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident report summary between Friday, Jan. 30, and Saturday, Jan. 31. 

Crimes against a person

at 1:11 p.m. a female reported that she was assaulted by her boyfriend at The Lorenzo.  A suspect was arrested and charged.

Crimes against property

at 12:01 p.m. on Jan. 30, a purse was reported stolen at Elizabeth Von Kleinsmid Memorial Hall.

at 2:59 p.m. on Jan. 30, a bicycle was reported stolen at John Hubbard Hall.

at 7:04 p.m. on Jan. 30, a cell phone was reported stolen at Health Center 2.

at 2:26 a.m. on Jan. 31, three suspects reportedly used force to steal a two-way radio from a non-USC male at Exposition Boulevard and Trousdale Parkway.  The suspects were later arrested.

at 6:06 p.m. on Jan. 31, a bicycle was reported stolen at 23rd Street and Figueroa Street.

Miscellaneous incidents

at 10:48 a.m. on Jan. 30, a student reported receiving an inappropriate text message from his building manager.

at 1:45 p.m. on Jan. 30, a student was taken to a local hospital after complaining of experiencing severe abdominal discomfort at the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Library.

at 1:45 p.m. on Jan. 30, a staff member driving a university tram collided with a Metro bus, causing unspecified damage at 34th Street and Figueroa Street.  There were no reported injuries.

at 7:04 p.m. on Jan. 30, a USC student drove his vehicle into a non-USC student’s vehicle, causing unspecified damage at Jefferson Boulevard and McClintock Avenue. There were no reported injuries.

at 7:36 p.m. on Jan. 30, a student driving a university vehicle collided with a male not affiliated with USC, causing unspecified damage at 27th Street and Figueroa Street. There were no reported injuries.

at 2:06 a.m. on Jan. 31, a student was examined and released on scene following an alcohol overdose at 1256 29th St.

at 4:14 a.m. on Jan. 31, a student reportedly kicked a hole in an apartment wall and damaged personal property at Regal Trojan Arms.

at 7:04 a.m. on Jan. 31, a backpack was reported stolen at 29th Street and Orchard Avenue.  A suspect was later arrested.

at 7:28 p.m. on Jan. 31, a student was taken to a hospital from The Lorenzo for medical treatment after reporting feeling faint.
