As the Daily Trojan reported Saturday, senior running back Stafon Johnson spoke at a press conference before USC’s game against Stanford for the first time since he underwent emergency surgery following a weightlifting accident in late September.

Tim Floyd moves on to his next job

Former USC basketball coach Tim Floyd was hired as the top assistant coach for the New Orleans Hornets.
The announcement came on the heels of the firing of head coach Byron Scott, who was dismissed after only nine games.

Four high school seniors signed letters of intent Wednesday, the first day of the NCAAâs early signing period, to join the USC basketball team next year.

The USC womenâs soccer team received its fifth straight bid into the postseason Monday, when the field for the 2009 NCAA tournament was announced.
The Women of Troy (12-6-2) will take on Oklahoma State (15-7-0) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

So it appears former USC men’s basketball coach Tim Floyd didn’t fall off the face of the earth after all.
The discredited coach, who resigned last June amidst allegations of NCAA violations, was caught on camera breaking up a fight at an unknown casino cafeteria. The Trojans may have been shocked after getting dismantled by Oregon on Saturday, but their subsequent dropp in the BCS standings couldn’t have come as much of a surprise.

A Pac-10 official who worked the USC-Oregon State game Saturday was suspended by the conference for missing an obvious facemask penalty, commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday.

USC jumps two spots in BCS rankings

USC is ranked No. 5 in the BCS standings, two positions higher than a week ago.
After the Trojans 42-36 win over Oregon State on Saturday, Â they moved past Cincinnati and Boise State in the standings, although neither team lost. Cincinnati defeated Louisville 41-10 and Boise State dismantled Hawaii 54-9.
