HAUTE HIGHLIGHTS

deLaB Grand Central Market Tour

317 S. Broadway, Los Angeles

Nov. 23, 12 — 1 p.m.

If you haven’t visited Grand Central Market yet, you’re either hiding under a rock or a mechanical engineering major. That said, there’s no excuse to miss out this week as design east of La Brea (or deLaB) is hosting a one-hour guided tour of all the food options at Grand Central Market. If you haven’t tried it yet, now’s your chance.

The Musical of Musicals, The Musical!

5429 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles

Nov. 22 — 23, 8 p.m.;

If you like musicals — great. If you don’t like musicals — even better! Eric Rockwell and Joanne Bogart’s five-act performance, The Musical of Musicals, the Musical! parodies the genre through the theme of not being able to pay one’s rent. What could be more humorous than the levity of singing contrasted with the gravity of financial trouble?

Pearl Jam

L.A. Sports Arena, 3939 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles

Nov. 23  — 24, 7:30 p.m.

It’s a blast from the past. The second-best alternative rock band of the ’90s comes to Los Angeles for the first time since 2009. Eddie Vedder is aging like fine wine — his live performances are as energetic as ever, so expect favorites like “Even Flow” as well as much more from that one band that wasn’t Nirvana.

L.A. Public Library Reading of Moby Dick

One Windward Ave, Los Angeles

Nov. 23 — 24. 8 a.m. — 10 p.m.

It’s the beginning of grey whale migration season, and the L.A. Public Library will celebrate by having a reading of all 500 pages of Moby Dick in order to introduce it to new readers. It’s a sitting marathon!
