The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident report summary between Friday, Jan. 22, and Monday, Jan. 25.
Crimes against Property
At 3:28 p.m. on Jan. 22, three students were cited and referred to Judicial Affairs for riding a University electric cart without permission in the center of campus.
At 1:05 p.m. on Jan. 22, a grand theft of dental equipment from Heritage Hall Weight and Dining Facility was reported.
At 6:55 a.m. on Jan. 23, a student became involved in an altercation with a suspect in Trojan Plaza after she witnessed him walking away from the scene with the rear wheel of her bike, still attached to another bike. After trying to punch the student the suspect fled without the bike.
At 9:32 a.m. on Jan. 24, a student at University Gateway Apartments reported seven unauthorized purchases made on his or her credit card by an unknown party the month prior.
At 12:46 p.m. on Jan. 24, a student from Avalon Apartments reported a theft of a laptop computer, a video game console and a video game.
At 12:03 a.m. on Jan. 25, two suspects, one a juvenile and the other a non-USC female, were detained at Zips Market after a store employee witnessed them taking bottles of beer from the store. The beer was returned and the suspects released after the employee decided not to press charges.
Miscellaneous incidents
At 7:17 p.m. on Jan. 24, a complaint over the smell of gas was reported near Jefferson Boulevard and Orchard Avenue.
