February Editor Favorites: Virtual Valentine’s Day Dates

By DAILY TROJAN STAFF
February 13, 2021 in Lifestyle
Zoom Activity

— Nothing spells love to me quite like enjoying a film with your SO. That's why I'd want to do a Teleparty marathon of the "Godzilla" franchise. None of the American ones. Just prehistoric sea monsters and vibes.
Lauren Mattice, digital managing editor

— Watch a cute movie, like “Princess Switch 2: Switched Again” or something, and a virtual dinner
Lois Angelo, chief copy editor

— Hop on Zoom with a pencil and paper, throw on some background beats and attempt to sketch a portrait of the other person (make it funny if you want!). Don't show each other until you both are finished.
Emily Sagen, arts & entertainment editor

— Making a playlist for each other! I love making playlists.
Raymond Rapada, editor in chief

Dress Code

— Anything comfy, preferably pajamas: staying homely by being your most comfortable without having to care what you look like
Twesha Dikshit, associate managing editor

—The Comfy® — A sherpa blanket that you can wear ... I mean come on
Raymond Rapada, editor in chief

— The dress code is whatever makes you feel the most confident and comfortable. You're going to be on Zoom, so why not cross comfort with fashion and feel your best!
Emily Sagen, arts & entertainment editor

— STRICTLY pajamas
Sasha Hederstrom, video editor

Restaurant Takeout

— Grandview Palace in Pasadena — it's family-owned and operated and serves some of the best shareable Chinese food in the county, but you're not sharing because we are in a pandemic.
Lauren Mattice, digital managing editor

—Ebaes
Megan Tsern, assistant A&E editor

—Jinya Ramen bar + Salt & Straw: Nothing beats following popcorn and wine with a hot bowl of ramen and some Salt & Straw ice cream. Carbs on carbs is the only way to celebrate!
Twesha Dikshit, associate managing editor

— Sushi, for sure
Sasha Hederstrom, video editor

Gift

— Maybe like a cool stuffed animal, a cute note and a PDF of the Daily Trojan
Lois Angelo, chief copy editor

— The playlist — As much as I like making playlists for myself, I love being able to share my favorite songs with friends or songs that remind me of them and our friendship :)
Raymond Rapada, editor in chief

—Basket of cookies and cute letters!
Megan Tsern, assistant A&E editor

—Might have to go with the Zyllion Shiatsu Back and Neck Massager, because everyone's posture is suffering right now and the best thing to do after a long day of Zooming is some R&R.
Lauren Mattice, digital managing editor

Song

—We're going to do "Exit Music (for a film)" because I want to start Radiohead discourse.
Lauren Mattice, digital managing editor

— “betty” by Taylor Swift (as you should end every night)
Myriam Alcala, diversity and inclusion director

—Definitely “From Eden” by Hozier :’)
Sasha Hederstrom, video editor

— “Robbers” by The 1975 so we can both feel like the main characters of a music video.
Angie Orellana Hernandez, arts & entertainment editor
