Recreational Sports hosted the first Splash Bash since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic Friday night at Uytengsu Aquatics Center. The event drew a crowd of incoming students joining the USC community for the first time, as well as returning students who never had a Splash Bash experience of their own. The giant pool party, for which more than 5,000 students pre-registered, featured swimming, games and music by DJ Mal-Ski, the official DJ for the Los Angeles Rams, USC Athletics and the Grammy Awards.
Tristan Clark, a freshman majoring in screenwriting, praised Splash Bash for the opportunity it gave him to find more friends in college.
The welcome events are “really awesome,” Clark said. “It’s great to be able to meet new people, hang out with them. It’s just a great bonding experience.”
