The following incidents were reported in the USC Department of Public Safety Crime/Incident Summary between Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Crimes against a person

ON AUG. 21 between 1:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m., a student reported she and her ex-boyfriend had been involved in a physical altercation earlier that day. The student had bruises and scratches on her arms, but did not request medical treatment or prosecution.

On aug. 23 between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., a student reported her roommate pushed her against a wall and screamed at her during an argument in their Roma apartment. The student filed a report, which stated she feared for her safety. DPS officers were unable to locate the roommate and the report was referred to Judicial Affairs.

on aug. 24 at 7 p.m., a student said a suspect approached her outside the Albert S. Raubenheimer Music Faculty Memorial Building and attempted to snatch a book bag she had placed beside her. While attempting to stop the suspect from stealing her bag, the student dropped her cellphone. The suspect seized the phone and fled on foot. DPS officers were unable to locate the suspect.

Crimes against property

on aug. 19 at 9:45 a.m., a Yellow Cab backed into a staff member’s vehicle outside the Information Science Institute. The collision caused significant damage to the staff member’s vehicle.

on aug. 20 between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., a suspect smashed the right front window of a staff member’s vehicle parked at 33rd Street and Hope Street and removed the dash stereo, GPS and iPod.

on aug. 23 before 10 a.m., a glass door at the Allan Hancock Foundation was shattered by unknown means.

on aug. 23 at 8:31 a.m., officers observed a male suspect riding a female bicycle with a registration sticker at Jefferson Boulevard and Figueroa Street. The suspect said the bike was his, but registration showed it belonged to a female student, who said no one had permission to remove it. The officers arrested the suspect and transported him to the Los Angeles Police Department Southwest Division for booking.

Miscellaneous incidents

on aug. 19 at 9:52 a.m., an MTA bus and a vehicle driven by a student collided at the intersection of 36th Place and Vermont Avenue. A passenger in the vehicle sustained multiple injuries. Los Angeles Fire Department Unit 814 examined the passenger and transported him to California Hospital for medical treatment.

on aug. 19 at 11:45 p.m., a loud party complaint summoned DPS officers to Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. The officers requested the party be shut down and the residents agreed to comply, but 45 minutes later, officers returned following a second noise complaint. The party was shut down again and the matter was referred to Judicial Affairs.

on aug. 20 at 12:45 a.m., a student drinking from a beer can outside Kappa Sigma fraternity was arrested, cited for drinking in public and released by DPS officers.

on aug. 20 at 11:57 a.m., a staff member injured her left toe while opening an office door inside Blanche and Frank R. Seaver Student Residence Hall. She refused medical attention.

on aug. 21 at 2:25 a.m., a non-USC male was transported to a local hospital from the Delta Delta Delta sorority house following excessive consumption of alcohol.

on aug. 21 at around 10 p.m., a student was found unconscious in the hallway of Elizabeth Von KleinSmid Memorial Residence Hall. She did not wake up after DPS officers attempted to rouse her, and officers summoned a unit of the LAFD. After examining the student, LAFD Unit 15 transported her to California Hospital for medical treatment.

on aug. 22 at 1:10 a.m., DPS officers responded to a report of a fight on the 1100 block of 30th St., but the combatants had dispersed before officers arrived. A student involved was later contacted because he had been seen with an expandable baton during the fight. The student relinquished the baton and it was impounded at the DPS office.

on Aug. 23 at 3:49 a.m., a student was cited to Judicial Affairs for both a party at 2800 block of Menlo Ave. that generated three noise complaints and for the uncooperative nature of the party guests.

on aug. 24 at 2:26 a.m., DPS officers detained a student for questioning after finding him running around on the roof of May Ormerod Harris Residence Hall. The student was intoxicated but coherent, and the officers released him to the care of his roommate.

on aug. 25 at 12:42 a.m., a student riding a bicycle crashed into a parked bike outside Troy Hall. When DPS officers contacted the student, they determined that he was intoxicated and cited him to Judicial Affairs when he proved uncooperative.
