Grimble decommits from USC

Jalen Grimble (Las Vegas), who is rated as the No. 7 defensive tackle in the nation by Scout.com, has withdrawn his verbal commitment to play for USC, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive lineman from Bishop Gorman High School verbally committed to USC in May, but is no longer being recruited by the school, according to the report.

According to a press release from his high school promoting the school’s signing day event, Grimble will choose to play for either Miami (Fl.) or UCLA on Wednesday. Rivals.com also lists Nebraska as a possible destination for the highest-rated recruit from Nevada.

Verbal commitments, such as the one Grimble gave to USC in May, are non-binding. Commitments only become official when an athlete signs his letter of intent.
