National Signing Day: Marqise Lee picks USC

USC’s recruiting class was strengthened even more when Marqise Lee from Serra (Gardena, Calif.) committed to play for the Trojans over Oregon and Miami.

“It feels great to be able to play with my best friends, George Farmer and Robert Woods,” Lee said in an announcement. “I could play on either side of the ball, but I think they’re going to start me out on offense at receiver. I’m just very comfortable at USC and the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea of staying close to home.”

Lee rejoins his high school teammates in what will be a solid young core for the Trojans. Lee, a four-star athlete according to Yahoo! Sports’ Rivals.com, has the capability to play both sides of the ball but is expected to contribute most likely at the safety position.

“I’ll probably play offense, but if I have to play defense, I will,” Lee said. “Whatever gets me on the field quicker. I’m comfortable with offense or defense. It doesn’t matter to me.”
