National Signing Day: Turene spurns USC for Georgia

Linebacker Kent Turene, a long time commit of USC, decommitted this weekend and signed to play for the University of Georgia Wednesday.

Turene, who made a verbal commitment to the Trojans seven months ago, is a 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker from Boyd Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. He decided to visit Georgia, Texas Tech and Nebraska in January despite his ties to USC, and announced his decision today to join the Bulldogs.

As a four star outside lineman according to ESPN and a three star inside lineman according to Rivals.com, Turene could have contributed greatly to the Trojan team had he not switched his allegiances.
