USC offers Michigan cornerback a scholarship

Just over a week since reeling in the nation’s No. 4 overall recruiting class for 2011 according to Yahoo! Sports’ Rivals.com, USC has begun preparations for its 2012 class, offering Cass Technical (Mich.) cornerback Terry Richardson a scholarship, per USCFootball.com’s Ryan Abraham.

The 5-foot-9 defensive back is regarded as one of the best players in the midwest region, and as a junior in 2010, recorded eight interceptions and 30 tackles. As a sophomore, he finished with four interceptions and 20 tackles.

Other highly-regarded programs such as Alabama, LSU and Michigan have all offered him scholarships, as well.

Presently, USC’s 2012 class includes four prospects: DT Arik Armstead (Elk Grove, Calif.), ATH Jaydon Mickens (Los Angeles), WR Jordan Payton (Westlake Village, Calif.) and ATH Darreus Rogers (Carson, Calif.).
