New Charlie’s Angels reboot coming to ABC

The hit 70’s TV show that made the late Farrah Fawcett’s blonde tresses an icon is getting a facelift. According to TVGuide, ABC’s reboot of Charlie’s Angels has found its last main cast member, Roman Rodriguez, who will be playing the Angels’ protector Bosley.  Rodriguez, best known for playing Leo Spitz in Transformers, will portray a relatively younger Bosley than the former, slightly deranged yet fatherly figures of David Doyle, Bill Murray and Bernie Mack.
Rodriguez will be joining the triple threat of the beautiful, smart and deadly Angels: Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh.

Kelly (The Roommate) could possibly be playing a re-worked version of Marissa, an ex-US Marine/expertise in weapons and combat/OCD neat freak.

Taylor, another Transformers veteran, is rumored to be playing Abby, the youngest but definitely not the most innocent of all the Angels.  Taking after her Wall Street swindler of a father, she is a con artist who is also an expert in the hand-to-hand Israeli Krav Maga.

According to Access Hollywood, Ilonzeh (General Hospital) could be playing Kate, the intelligent martial arts master and former cop.

Although the elusive and mysterious role of Charles Townsend is still technically up for grabs, IMDB states that Robert Wagner is rumored to play the wealthy private investigator.

Former angel, Drew Barrymore, will produce the TV series along with director Marcos Siega and the former writers of the movie Charlie’s Angels, Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts.

Filming in Miami will be underway soon, as the pilot will air on ABC this September.

Will you tune in to ABC this upcoming Fall to watch the sexy Angels kick butt or is TV just running out of original ideas?
