Reported bomb nothing more than “vague threat”

A call reporting a bomb threat on campus was received by DPS officials today at 2 p.m., but according to DPS Capt. David Carlisle the threat was so vague that no action was necessary.

“It’s just a call that was received by our campus communications from an unknown male caller who made a very vague threat about placing a bomb on campus,” Carlisle said.

Cars were being turned away at the Figueroa Street entrance and it was rumored that the campus was on lockdown. Though DPS officers were deployed to predesignated areas in case of a lockdown, Carlisle said no lockdown took place and no search was conducted.

LAPD responded and is handling the investigation.
