Radiohead to release new tracks

On April 16, 2011, Radiohead will release two new tracks, “The Butcher” and “Supercollider,” on 12” vinyls in celebration of Record Store Day. Supercollider has been previously performed during the In Rainbows tour and serves as a perfectly melodic, piano ballad containing that ever-so-unique Thom Yorke aura.

Radiohead has consistently mastered public relations, given the sudden release of King of Limbs providing listeners with an unexpected surprise in addition to allotting listeners to name their price for In Rainbows, never failing to capture the attention of the media worldwide.

Whether Thom Yorke and Co. are master manipulators of their fans or whether they really only care about the music is up for debate. Their Record Store Day release, however, is meant to attract attention to small, independently owned record stores in order to keep the music industry going for the little guys.

Keeping with this theme, the two track vinyl is rumored to be released in a mere quantity of 2,000, only in record stores and, alas, not online.  For Coachella attendees, this may prove to be a difficult task given that they’ll be all the way off in Indio.
