The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety daily incident report between Monday, Jan. 16 and Tuesday, Jan. 17.
Crimes against a person
At 4:53 p.m. on Jan. 17, DPS officers responded to a juvenile who said a suspect punched him in the face during a confrontation at 37th Place and Raymond Avenue. The juvenile did not desire medical treatment and the suspect could not be located during a subsequent search of the area.
Crimes against property
at 9:12 p.m. on Jan. 16, a suspect used unknown means to gain entry to a locker room at the Marks Tennis Stadium and to remove five tennis rackets and racket string.
Miscellaneous incidents
at 2:39 p.m. on Jan. 17, a student reported that for the past three months she has observed a security guard stationed at Stardust Apartments staring at her through the blinds of her apartment window, and it has caused her to fear for her safety.
At 1:24 p.m. on Jan. 17, DPS officers responded to a non-USC female who fell to the floor when a chair collapsed while she was sitting on it inside the cafeteria at the Keck Hospital of USC. The female declined medical treatment.
at 12:41 p.m. on Jan. 17, a student was cited to Student Judicial Affairs for providing false information to an LAPD officer who stopped her for a traffic violation at Jefferson Boulevard and McClintock Avenue.
at 3:22 p.m. on Jan. 16, DPS officers on routine patrol observed a door propped open at Soto Street Building and stopped to investigate. A staff member inside the fitness center on the premises explained that the door was propped open because members’ ID cards were not working properly, and the officers requested that she station someone at the lobby desk to check IDs. The staff member complied and the officers cleared the scene.
