Miscellaneous incidents

At 1:15 a.m., on May 29, DPS officers responded to a report of a suspect prowling inside Parking Structure D and detained him for investigation. A check of the suspect’s name revealed two outstanding warrants, then he was arrested and transported to 77th station for booking.

At 8:05 p.m., on May 26, DPS officers responded to a non-USC male who cut his hand while installing cable at the Galen Center. The male’s hand had already been bandaged when the officers arrived and his supervisor subsequently transported him to an unspecified hospital for medical treatment.

At 12:32 a.m.,  on May 26, DPS officers on routine patrol observed a suspect riding a bicycle near the center of campus after dark without a light and detained him for investigation. The officers determined that the suspect had no legitimate business on campus, then he was advised against trespassing on university property and released.

At 1:58 a.m., on May 26, DPS officers and LAFD RA Unit #15 responded to an intoxicated student who was reportedly in need of medical assistance at University Gateway Apartments. The student was conscious and coherent when the RA Unit examined her and she declined transportation for medical treatment. The student was then released into the care of her roommates.

At 1:46 p.m., on May 25, DPS officers responded to a non-USC female complaining of chest pains at the Keck Hospital of USC. A rapid response team was at the scene examining the female when the officers arrived, and she was subsequently transported within the facility for medical treatment.

At 12:46 p.m., on May 25, DPS officers responded to a non-USC male who injured his knee and hand when he lost his balance and fell in an x-ray room at the Healthcare Consultation Center II. The male was being transported to another room within the facility when the officers arrived and he was subsequently treated by his personal physician.

At 12:10 p.m., on May 25, DPS officers responded to a non-USC female who injured her knee and back when she fell while walking down a flight of stairs at the University Village. The officers examined the female and offered transportation for medical treatment, but she declined and was released to seek it on her own.

At 10:24 a.m., on May 25, a non-USC female failed to place her vehicle in park when she stopped outside Keck Hospital at USC and as she was attempting to exit through the driver’s side door the car rolled over a curb and struck the front of the building. The female sustained injuries to her leg and ankle, so an LAFD RA unit was requested. RA Unit #1 responded and examined the female, then she was released to obtain medical treatment from staff on the premises. LAPD officers were also requested and responded to conduct a traffic investigation.

Crimes against property

At 12:39 a.m., on May 29, a student reported that a suspect kicked in a wooden panel on the front door of his apartment following a physical altercation with another student in a different apartment. Both students stated that the suspect is a possible resident at 643 30th St. and that they will contact the property manager about the incident.

At 11:16 a.m., on May 26, a student reported that the front bumper and driver’s side headlight were damaged when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle while it was parked at Belaire Apartments. The driver of the second vehicle left the scene without reporting the incident or leaving any contact information.

At 7:44 p.m., on May 25, DPS officers responded to a report of a suspect tampering with bicycles parked outside Ralph and Goldy Lewis Hall and detained him for investigation. A check of the suspect’s name revealed that he had been advised against trespassing on university property twice before. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Southwest station for booking.

At 9:06 a.m., on May 25, a suspect entered the unsecured Norris Dental Science Center and removed a laptop computer, a tablet computer and a wallet from an unattended backpack.
