The School of Cinematic Arts received a $10 million donation Thursday from the executive chairman and founder of Viacom Inc., Sumner Redstone. The donation will be used to build a state-of-the-art production facility named the Sumner M. Redstone Production Building.
The new building will feature 2,600 square feet of production space and will have two production stages for the 1,000 film students. In addition, the facility will have a professional lighting system and industry-standard hardware. The building will be dedicated on Feb. 5.
