The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident report summary between Thursday, March 28, and Friday, March 29. 

Crimes against a person

At 7:17 P.M. on March 28, DPS officers on routine patrol were flagged down by a witness who reported that two non-USC females were involved in an altercation at 2828 Figueroa St. One of the subjects had been punched in the mouth during the incident, but she did not desire criminal prosecution of the matter and an Los Angeles Fire Department rescue ambulance unit subsequently transported her to LA Metropolitan Hospital for medical treatment. The second female and her companion were questioned and released at the scene.

Crimes against property

at 1:24 p.m. on March 28, non-USC male reported that he observed a suspect remove a tip jar from a restaurant counter inside the University Village International Food Court and that he confronted the subject. The suspect relinquished the tip jar and the male returned it to the restaurant. The suspect fled on foot and he could not be located during a subsequent search of the area by DPS officers.

Miscellaneous incidents

at 1:48 A.m. on March 29, four students were arrested, cited and released by DMV investigators for possession of fake IDs at the 901 Bar & Grill.

at 10:09 P.M. on March 28, DPS officers responded to a student who sustained a cut when he smashed his finger with a dumbbell while placing it on the floor at the Lyon Center.  An LAFD RA unit was requested and Unit #826 responded.  The RA unit treated the student; he was then released to the officers, who transported him to California Hospital.

at 1:02 P.m. on March 28, DPS officers contacted a student who was reported to be behaving erratically at Leavey Library and transported him to the Engemann Student Health Center for evaluation. The student was then transported to a mental health facility for further evaluation.
