Haute Highlights

Art of Motion Picture Costume Design

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sat.

919 S. Grand Avenue

Los Angeles, CA 90015

As they say, the tuxedo makes the man. And in James Bond’s case, oh what a tuxedo it is. Check out the costume Daniel Craig wore in Skyfall — cufflinks and all — up close and personal, along with a selection of costumes from some of your favorite movies that came out last year at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. The 21st annual exhibit, honoring costume designers in the film industry, will also feature costumes from The Artist, which won the Oscar for best costume design last year. The event will run until April 27. Admission is free but, needless to say, the dress code is fabulous.

This event features taqueros, such as the renowned Mexicali Taco & Co., Mariscos Jalisco, MexiKosher and other notable taco vendors. And while you’re feasting, you can groove to the sounds of DJs, such as Azul, Sweatson Klank and Aarony Byrd. You won’t want to miss out — this event will be the taco the town!

Here ye, here ye, the world’s oldest Renaissance Faire is back, celebrating 51 seasons of Elizabethan fun and feast. The event will host hundred of performers, including everything from knife throwers to improv troupes. There will also be craftspeople selling items, including handblown glass creations, pottery, authentic clothing and weaponry. If you go, eat, drink and be merry. But be thankful that we live in a time period where, should you need it, there are working toilets. It runs until May 19.
