The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety crime/incident summary between Wednesday, Jan. 22 and Friday, Jan. 24.

Crimes against a person

At 2:59 P.M. on Jan. 22, a non-USC male at the United University Church reported he sustained injuries to his thumb and had pain in his knee after he was struck by cans of food during an argument with his co-worker. The man declined medical treatment and the co-worker was not available for questioning.

At 6:38 P.M. on Jan. 23, a student was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at 36th Place and Vermont Avenue. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the student to California Hospital Medical Center to be treated for multiple injuries. The Los Angeles Police Department was asked to conduct a traffic investigation.

Crimes against property

At 10:26 P.M. on Jan. 22, in a parking lot of the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the vehicle of a non-USC man rolled backwards after he exited the car while it was still in gear. The vehicle hit a staff member causing minor injury.

At 3:16 A.M. on Jan. 24, a waiter from the Denny’s at Jefferson and Hoover reported that two suspects left the restaurant without paying for their meals.

Miscellaneous incidents

At 11:01 P.M. on Jan. 23 as paramedics were entering campus, the light bar on the top of a Los Angeles Fire Department vehicle hit the top of the entrance booth at Gate 3, damaging some roof shingles.
