USC moves up to No. 7 in AP poll

After four top-10 teams lost this weekend, USC moved up to No. 7 in the AP rankings released Sunday.

A week ago, the Trojans’ national title hopes looked dim after a 16-13 upset loss to unranked Washington bounced them from No. 3 to No. 12. But it only took one week for the Trojans to get voted back into the top 10 and, in effect, back into title contention.

Florida remains atop the national polls, followed by No. 2 Texas, No. 3 Alabama, No. 4 LSU, No. 5 Boise State and No. 6 Virginia Tech. Oklahoma, Ohio State and Cincinnati round out the top 10.

The Trojans will play two more teams this season currently ranked in the Top 25. USC travels to No. 24 Cal next week and to No. 16 Oregon on Halloween.
