Power outages leave some students in the dark

As storms rolled through Southern California Wednesday, thousands of residents were left without power, including many USC students.

According to the LA Dept. of Water and Power almost 49,700 other customers were without power at some point during the storm, which began Tuesday. As of 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, around 5,500 customers still had no power.

USC students were not untouched by the power outages, as many students in off-campus apartments found themselves unable to switch on their lights or TV’s. A downed tree near 29th and Hoover streets also affected some students in the area.
