Top recruit’s change of heart may open door for USC

Cassius Marsh, a highly touted defensive tackle from Oaks Christian High School, has decommitted from Cal.

While Marsh was unwilling to provide a precise reason for this surprising decision, college football insiders speculate that Cal’s lackluster season thus far was a pivotal factor.

Cal’s loss is potentially USC’s gain, although the Trojans will have to compete with LSU for the speedy, physical lineman. While Marsh grew up rooting for the Trojans on Saturdays, he is currently leaning towards joining LSU’s defensive line next season.

The Trojans have a chance to impress Marsh this weekend at the Coliseum, where he will be watching the Oregon State game.
