Former USC golfer making an impression at pro level

Former USC men’s golfer Jamie Lovemark made his mark on the Nationwide Golf Tour this past weekend, finishing third at the Michael Hill New Zealand Open in Queenstown, New Zealand.

The ex-Trojan golfer, who is appearing on the Nationwide Tour for the first time this season, finished all four rounds below par, most notably shooting an impressive four-under par in the final round on Sunday.

Lovemark’s final round score was tied for the best round of the day and was among the lowest round scores submitted during the four-day tournament.

Lovemark arrived late in New Zealand after the PGA Tour’s Bob Hope Classic, the tour rookie’s first PGA tour event, ran a day late.

In the Bob Hope Classic, Lovemark finished tied for 48th place, placing ahead of notable golfers such as Ben Crane, Fredrik Jacobson and Rocco Mediate.

Among the golfers who finished at -15 with Lovemark were Chris DiMarco, who has finished second in three different PGA major events; the Masters, US Open and PGA Championship.

During his time at USC, Lovemark was named All-American was and named to the GCAA PING All-Pacific Region and All-Pac-10 first teams.
