Pete returns to Los Angeles
In January, Pete Carroll broke the hearts of Trojan fans when he announced he was leaving USC in order to enter the NFL as the new head coach of the Seattle Seahawks.
On Saturday, Feb. 20 the ex-football coach returned to the city he left behind, but did not stop by USC’s campus.
Carroll announced on his Twitter page that he was in town to attend the comedy show for his charity, A Better LA. The proceeds were sent to both the charity as well as to the Red Cross to help fund its relief efforts in Haiti after a devastating earthquake struck the island last month.
The show was titled “Make It Better: An Evening of Comedy with Will Ferrell and Friends.” Will Ferrell served as the headliner for the event, which took place at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. Live.
Carroll founded the charity in 2003. It is aimed at decreasing violence on L.A. streets and making a better city overall. The charity brings together different groups, such as community leaders, members of law enforcement and government agencies.
Carroll appeared in a promotional video for the show with comedians Rob Riggie and Aubrey Plaza. Both of them also appeared in the show, as did others such as Tenacious D and comedian Nick Swardson.
