Explosions of poetry

Over the weekend, Chilean art collective Casagrande dropped poetry bombs on Berlin — the fifth city the organization has bombed.

These guys get in a helicopter, fly above a major city and release about 400 pieces of poetry on a city as a message of peace and beauty. It seems like a pretty cool idea considering people largely ignore poetry that doesn’t fall from the sky.

According to the Los Angeles Times, L.A. will someday get its own rain of poetry. Bay Area- based poet S.A. Griffin (who’s also a celebrated commercial/advertisement actor) is apparently organizing it.

Griffin has already collected 400 poems, but is planning on taking another 400 with him on his raid. Interested in submitting? He’s up for suggestions through his Facebook page.

Let the rain pour.
