Trojans sound off on Twitter
We’ve seen the comments from USC coach Lane Kiffin following his team’s lackluster 17-14 win over Virginia Saturday.
“[I am] really disappointed in our performance,” he told reporters after the game. “They outcoached us. We just had better players and made some plays. I hope you can tell the disappointment in our team and coaching staff. We’re not getting it done.”
Later, he went on to comment about the post-game atmosphere in the Trojan locker room.
“It’s probably the most miserable 2-0 locker room I’ve ever been in,” he said. “But that’s good, because it means the players understand our expectations and what we want from them.”
Only time will tell if the Trojans take the message to heart, but if Twitter is any indication, Kiffin’s team understood his point.
From senior center Kristofer O’Dowd (@ODOWD61):
“a WIN is a WIN but we can always get better!!! back to the Grind…2 down 11 to GO!!!!!!”
Sophomore quarterback Matt Barkley (@MattBarkley):
“Learning and growing from your mistakes is the only way you can get better. Let’s be 1-0 this week..”
Sophomore safety T.J. McDonald (@tdeuce7):
“A win is a win. Get better every week. 11 more chances to do something special.”
But perhaps redshirt sophomore wide receiver Brice Butler (@USCnumber19) said it best at 11:31 p.m. Saturday:
“Too close.”
