Harry Potter star takes on new role

As the date for the first installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows gets closer, fans can’t help but wonder what will happen to the stars of the saga when it ends. The characters that for a long time were portrayed by lovable trio Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are now leaving the screen. So where does that leave the actors?

For Rupert Grint, it means getting accustomed to completely different roles.

In an interview with Parade, he confessed “I’m really sad actually, I’ve missed it.”

He adds, however, that he looks forward to the change.

“But I think it’s a good time really to kind of move on. It has been a long time. After ten years, I do kind of want to stretch a bit more and explore different characters and do different things.”

How about an action comedy for his first non-Harry Potter role? Grint has been cast in Wild Target starring Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt. Fans now get to watch him perform various stunts while still portraying a character similar to his own personality.

“I’m quite gullible… this guy I play is just like that.”

At the premiere, viewers will be able to tell if Grint was able to move on from a character he invested so much time in and jump-start his basically new acting career.

And he doesn’t have a wand to help him do it.
