The School of Cinematic Arts Strikes Back

I haven’t seen Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back in theaters since the re-release back in 1997. I was in the third grade then, and to say that Star Wars blew my mind would be the understatement of the century.

Much has changed in the decade since, but my love of the corporate monolith that is Star Wars has never faded.

Just in case you haven’t heard, USC’s School of Cinematic Arts is holding a special screening of The Empire Strikes Back this Friday at Norris Cinema Theatre as part of a special advance screening of the documentary Industrial Light and Magic: Creating the Impossible. The documentary takes a look at the visual effects company and its history of innovation since the 1970s.

I don’t know about you, but giant wookies couldn’t keep me away.
