USC still going strong on recruiting front

Last weekend the Trojans gained progress on the recruiting front for the future of their basketball program.

High school seniors Byron Wesley, a 6-foot-5 senior forward from Etiwanda, and 6-foot-1 point guard Alexis Moore of Long Beach Poly were among the recruits visiting last weekend. Both players are currently verbally committed to the Trojans for the recruiting class of 2011. Wesley is ranked by ESPN as a four-star prospect while Moore is rated a three star prospect.

In addition to those recruits, several others are considering signing with USC once they become seniors next year, including forward Zena Edosomwan from North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake, shooting guard Gabe York of Orange Lutheran, forward Grant Jarrett of La Verne Lutheran, forward Xavier Johnson of Santa Ana Mater Dei and point guard Jahmel Taylor of Sierra Canyon.

The possibility of adding all these players from an already impressive recruiting class from 2010 has positioned the Trojans, who were recently picked to finish sixth in the Pac-10, in the right direction to move forward.
