Michel Gondry to join jury at Festival de Cannes
Michel Gondry is following in the footsteps of Atom Egoyan and Martin Scorsese and has been chosen to head the short film and Cinéfondation jury at the Festival de Cannes, which commences on May 11.
Michel Gondry’s original body of work in films and music videos make him an obvious choice for the position. The imaginative and always fascinating filmmaker is known for his inventive exploration of grand scale ideas, which has been seen in his films, including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Science of Sleep.
The Cinéfondation prizes will be awarded to three emerging filmmakers on May 20, while the Palme d’Or for best short film will be awarded at the Closing Ceremony on May 22.
