Travie McCoy resumes work with Gym Class Heroes

His solo career might be going extremely well, but Travie McCoy hasn’t forgotten where he came from.

Remember that alternative hip-hop group called Gym Class Heroes that was always on the radio in 2007 with their hit single “Cupid’s Chokehold” from their 2005 album, The Paper Chronicles? Yeah, they haven’t gone anywhere.

Before McCoy, the frontman of GCH, worked on his solo career, the band released two successful albums after The Paper. Now they are getting ready to record their fourth studio album, said to be named The Paper Chronicles 2, hopefully this summer.

“The new record — hence the name — is a throwback to our first record and just trying to capture the innocence that that record had,” McCoy told MTV News.

So far, the band has about 25 demos and the number is growing. When the time comes, they’ll have to choose which ones are worthy of landing a spot on the new album.

Rumors have been going around that this Friday, GCH will be announced as one of the acts for the Vans Warped Tour’s main stage. Check the official Warped Tour website this Friday to see if the rumors are true
