First bail, now Lindsay Lohan to play mobster’s wife

Lindsay Lohan has had nothing short of trouble this year.  From being the subject of countless tabloids to being a regular at the courthouse, she is definitely no longer the cute twelve-year-old from The Parent Trap.

The Mean Girls actress was reportedly released after spending five hours in custody out of a 120 day sentence, posting a $75,000 bail Friday night in Los Angeles. Although Lohan had been charged with violating probation and stealing a pricey necklace ($2,500) from a boutique in Venice, Calif., on Friday her sentence was lessedn to only a misdemeanor.

Besides 120 days in prison, her sentence included 500 hours of community service, 300 of which will be at a women’s shelter and a county morgue.

But Lohan’s future is not all pin striped suits and bars.  Entertainment Weekly reported that the celebrity will be playing the wife of the currently imprisoned mobster “Junior” Gotti in the film Gotti: Three Generations.

The film’s cast includes John Travolta as her father-in-law Gotti Sr. and Joe Pesci as Angelo Ruggierio. Maybe the countless hours Lohan spent in court will help her get into character

On a serious note, here’s hoping these are the last of Lohan’s legal troubles.
