Missoni-mania hits Target
If you haven’t already heard, yesterday famous Italian fashion house Missoni launched its line for Target stores.
The collection boasts the brand’s signature zigzagged and striped patterns for a fraction of the cost of the original prices, normally sold at high-end boutiques and department stores. The Missoni line also includes accessories and home furnishing, with prices ranging from $2.99 to $599.
But don’t expect to have much to choose from. In the Los Angeles area alone, most Targets have completely sold out. Store managers from the La Cienega and Century Boulevard locations say the inventory was wiped out around 10:30 this morning, and don’t know when or if it will be replenished.
It seems Target’s website was also unprepared for Missoni-mania, seeing as their site has been down for the better part of the day. After five hours of waiting, I was finally able to crack it, only to find slim pickings.
People who were wise enough to go to Target’s opening Tuesday morning were buying not only for themselves, but also to sell on websites like eBay, for huge profits.
