  • Center Ryan Kalil and the Panthers line had a solid day against the Chicago Bears. The running game finally got something going, with a total of 26 carries for 169 yards and two scores. Carolina, however, came up on the short end as it lost to Chicago 34-29.
  • Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga had 11 tackles in a 23-20 win against Buffalo.
  • Offensive tackle Tyron Smith and his fellow Dallas offensive linemen kept quarterback Tony Romo upright, but Romo’s mistakes erased the line’s solid play. Dallas lost 34-30.
  • Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel was sharp Sunday against Minnesota, throwing for 260 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs 22-17 win. It was Kansas City’s first victory of the season.
  • New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Charles Brown and his linemen allowed Drew Brees to get sacked three times, but the offense didn’t suffer: They compiled 503 yards on offense.
  • The San Franciso 49ers running game finally got their act together, thanks in part to Chilo Rachal. The team ran for 164 yards.
  • Pittsburgh safety Troy Polamalu had a nine tackles, including eight solo, but the team couldn’t pull out a win in Houston as they fell 17-10.
  • Texans linebacker Brian Cushing had six tackles against the Steelers.
  • The Atlanta Falcons offensive line with Sam Baker finally played well. Granted, it was against Seattle, but Matt Ryan was not sacked once. Atlanta won 30-28.
  • Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews had two tackles and two quarterback hits in a rout against the Broncos, 49-23.
  • Running back Reggie Bush received most of the work for Miami because Daniel Thomas was out with an injury. He had 15 touches for 65 yards.
  • New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez had his worst game of the season Sunday. Sanchez was 11-of-35 for 119 yards, an interception and lost three fumbles in a 34-17 loss to Baltimore.
  • Jets running back Joe McKnight had a 107-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
