The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident report summary between Monday, Oct. 22, and Tuesday, Oct. 23. 

Crimes against property

At 7:56 p.m. on Oct. 22, DPS officers responded to a report of a suspect roller skating through campus carrying two bicycle wheels and detained him for investigation near Childs Way and McClintock Avenue. The suspect claimed that the wheels were given to him by a friend, but the officers were unable to confirm his story. The officers then confiscated the wheels,  and the suspect was released after being advised that he could claim them with proof of ownership.

at 4:44 p.m. on Oct. 22, a suspect used an unknown substance to write graffiti on the side of a non-USC male’s van at 1289 36th Place. There was no permanent damage.

Miscellaneous incidents

at 10:35 a.m. on Oct. 22, a non-USC female reported that she observed a suspect peering into a window of a residence adjacent to hers at 2666 Ellendale Pl. and stated that this was at least the third time she has seen him.  DPS officers responded, locating and detaining the suspect. The suspect was positively identified by the female during a field “show-up,” then was arrested and transported to Metropolitan Detention Center for booking.
