The following incidents were reported in the USC Department of Public Safety crime/incident summary between Friday, March 21 and Saturday, March 22.
Crimes against a person
At 8:27 A.M. on March 21, a staff member reported a suspect grabbed her waist while she was exiting a Metro bus at Exposition Boulevard and Vermont Avenue. She pushed the suspect away and subsequently fled on foot. Because the staff member did not report the incident at the time, DPS could not search for the suspect.
At 8:39 A.M. on March 21, a staff member reported an unprovoked suspect punched him twice outside the Jefferson Street Metro station. The suspect fled the scene after a second staff member intervened. The incident was not reported at the time of occurrence, so DPS could not search for the suspect.
Miscellaneous incidents
at 9:01 a.m. on March 21,a staff member doing landscaping work outside the Hoffman Contracts Research Building discovered 22 butane canisters and a bag of marijuana. The property was given to DPS and took it to the Metropolitan Detention Center as evidence.
