The following incidents were reported in the USC Department of Public Safety incident report summary between Tuesday, April 1, and Wednesday, April 2. 

Crimes against a person

At 4:49 P.M. on April 1, DPS responded to reports of shots being fired near 2375 Scarff St. A non-USC male was found with gunshot wounds. A LAFD RA unit was requested and transported him to California Hospital for medical treatment. LAPD also responded to conduct an investigation.

Miscellaneous incidents

at 5:33 P.m.  on April 1, DPS and LAFD responded to a fire alarm that was activated by a staff member in Parkside after he observed smoke in the location. Upon arrival, a student told the DPS officers that somebody had set a poster on fire on the fourth floor. They subsequently found a burnt flyer taped to an elevator door.

at 10:50 P.m. on April 1, DPS responded to an intoxicated student who had passed out at Pi Kappa Alpha. A LAFD RA unit was requested and transported the student to California Hospital for treatment.

at 1:08 A.m. on April 2, DPS responded to an intoxicated student who had passed out at New/North. The student was conscious and coherent when contacted by officers and was released at the scene after being examined by an LAFD RA unit.

at 4:55 A.m. on April 2, DPS officers on routine patrol were flagged down around 1429 23rd St. by a non-USC male who was suffering from possible hypothermia. A LAFD RA unit responded and offered to transport him for medical treatment, but he declined. DPS subsequently transported him to his residence.
