Twitter Turns 10: Trojans’ First Tweets
This past Monday, Twitter celebrated the 10th anniversary of the first-ever tweet. Since then, the microblogging site has grown to host over 320 million active users a month and employs 3,900 employees at over 35 offices around the world. Here’s a look back at the first tweets of USC’s favorite accounts.
In 2012, Athletic Director Pat Haden first greeted the Trojan Family online.
USC’s first tweet in 2009 was an article about USC undergraduates at the School of Social Work helping Los Angeles city officials.
All were invited to the Trojan Marching Band’s Trojan Huddle performance in their first tweet in 2009.
USC Quarterback Cody Kessler tweeted to his linebacker teammate Scott Starr in 2012.
In 2012, Ainsley Carry, Vice President for Student Affairs, shared his optimism about our generation.
And of course, the Daily Trojan was the earliest to the party in January of 2009 with a dutiful tweet sharing the day’s top story.
