USC Security Roundup


The following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety incident report summary between Sunday, Sept. 18, and Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Crimes against a person

At 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 20, a non-USC female reported that she and her sister had a verbal and physical altercation at the USC Keck Hospital.

At 7:37 p.m. on Sept. 20, a student at 922 23rd St. reported that his ex-girlfriend continues to harass him with bothersome and threatening text messages even after he asked her not to contact him anymore.

At  2:29 p.m. on Sept. 17, a non-USC female sustained injuries in a traffic collision. She reported fearing for her safety because she believes her boyfriend caused the crash in an attempt to harm her.

At 10:23 p.m. on Sept. 18, a non-USC female reported  at the UPC Public Safety Office that her ex-husband may be trying to contact her daughter, a student, and that she fears for her daughter’s safety.

At 11:50 p.m. on Sept. 17, a suspect entered a student’s unlocked apartment at Trojan Terrace without permission. He fled when she began yelling at him.

Crimes against property

At 7:15 a.m.  on Sept. 20, a staff member reported that a suspect intercepted a package at 2723 Figueroa St. that was about to be delivered to the Bookstore.

At 6:48 a.m.  on Sept. 19, a suspect wrote graffiti using spray paint and marking pens at Exposition Blvd. Parking Structure.

At 1:12 p.m. on Sept. 18, a student drove his vehicle into a non-USC female’s vehicle, which subsequently collided with a staff member’s parked vehicle at 1137 36th Pl. All three vehicles suffered damage.

Miscellaneous incidents

At 12:52 a.m. on Sept. 20, a student at the Row House suffered a cut to his head. He was then transported to a local hospital for treatment.

At 10:02 a.m. on Sept. 20, a staff member suffered a possible anxiety attack at John Hubbard Hall and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
