USC’s acceptance rate for the Class of 2028 is expected to be 9.2%, according to an email from Director of Undergraduate Admission Kirk Brennan obtained by the Daily Trojan. This would mark a new record low after last year’s admissions cycle saw the first sub-10% acceptance rate.

See the numbers:

USC admitted 7% of early action applicants in the Class of 2028: About 41,000 students applied under the early action deadline and roughly 40,800 students applied under the regular decision deadline, according to the email.

The total number of applicants bumped up by about 1.2% from last year. The combined early action and merit scholarship acceptance rate also increased by 1.3% from last year.

The University will release regular admissions decisions April 1.
