At the Daily Trojan, we pride ourselves on our photojournalism, strictly following the Associated Press standards for photojournalism.
“[Edits] should be limited to those minimally necessary for clear and accurate reproduction and that restore the authentic nature of the photograph,” AP says. “Changes in density, contrast, color and saturation levels that substantially alter the original scene are not acceptable.”
“The Weekly Frame” was created in the spring of 2024 by then-photo editor Jordan Renville as a way to give the photo staff a chance to explore the more creative side of photography.
For the 26th edition of “The Weekly Frame,” DT photo staff had a chance to deviate from AP standards and dive into this unique and creative approach to photography unlike any edition before it. In “The Weekly Frame: Distortion,” staff photographers Teo Gonzales & Fin Liu were given free rein to alter and change their photos both in camera and in editing, fully embracing what “The Weekly Frame” was originally made for.
